Support Andy Phelan & family

My name is Maria Harlan and I am fundraising on behalf of my dear friends Andy and Laura Phelan and their beautiful family. Laura has been like a sister to me since she dated my brother back in high school until he tragically died in a car accident when they were 18. Laura was lucky enough to find love again with the love of her life, Andy Phelan. Between the two of them they have four wonderful kids, Josie, Aiden, Bella, and Ryan.

On February 3, completely out of nowhere, Andy suffered a massive stroke at only 49 years young. He had to have a decompressive craniectomy (where they removed part of his skull to relieve the swelling and part of his brain that was affected from the stroke). He has remained in the Neuro ICU since then, with some good days, but unfortunately also many complications. He has had to have a tracheotomy to help make him more comfortable with his ventilator. He has suffered additional smaller strokes. He has been suffering with pneumonia, delirium, and neuro-storming (with intense tremors). They still have not resolved all of the clots in his legs, and the blood thinners required to treat the clots had posed some complications for him as well. I'm sure you can tell that I am paraphrasing many of the details to explain that Andy still has an extremely long road to recovery and a very long fight ahead of him. Laura has hardly left his bedside. Between mounting medical bills and lost wages, they will need any support we can offer. Many have already been very generous I know. I am creating this GoFundMe in hopes that it has a wider reach because sadly their need will not soon end. If you have it in your heart to assist in any way, I know it will be so greatly appreciated from this truly deserving family. No amount is too small.
