“Mommy, Ove her like you Ove Me.” That was her sign, and the rest is history, so thank you for following.

For those of you who follow and know our sister Angel, you may know that her son Kesson would always say “Mommy, ‘ove’ you” because he could not pronounce the “L.” After Kesson passed away, Angel did not want another baby. Instead, she decided her life’s mission was to keep Kesson’s memory and legacy alive by giving back to the community and sharing his story every chance she had. When the opportunity to become a mom to a second child presented itself, Angel’s first reaction was the same as it had been for years. She said no. But she prayed about it, and overnight, her heart changed. She got a sign from her son, which one day will be shared in her book. Kesson told her, “Mommy, OVE her like you OVE me.” She thought she knew what she wanted, but God knew what she needed, and “God Gave (her) me a Girl” (Song by Russell Dickerson). Now, Angel could not imagine her life without this baby girl.

For over 6 months, Angel has been taking care of her sweet baby. She has taken care of all her medical needs and has showered her with all the love she deserves. Angel is an incredible mom, and her phenomenal support system has stepped up alongside her in this new role. They continue to love and support this miracle baby girl. However, right before Angel made the decision to pursue custody of our sweet niece, she was in the next phase of expanding her coffee shop, Keepsmiling A’latte Kesson & Co. Now she is facing legal expenses in her journey for full custody of our niece/God daughter.

The sisters, Jimmy, and I, are starting a GoFund Me to help offset those legal expenses that are necessary for Angel to gain custody. Angel is not even aware this is being put together, and we know her heart will be full to see her community rally behind these efforts.

Angel has a story that has been built on faith, hope, love, and trust. One day she will write her book and share their story to encourage others. Her story and her strength truly amaze us. She thrives, she loves, and she gives her heart to everyone. I know she will be totally humbled and thankful for any support. Thank you for considering. Our family will forever be grateful.
