Hello Everyone.
My name is Carlos. My fiancée, Angela, has been battling an extremely rare cancer, for over a year and a half. She was diagnosed with Stage 3B Granulosa Cell Tumor. It's a rare malignant ovarian cancer that may have started back in her teens, per her doctors. Angela suffers from severe panic attacks and anxiety already, The cancer has elevated these illnesses.
Prior to being diagnosed back in late October 2022, she needed two blood transfusions, before having life-saving exploratory surgery with a team of doctors. During the surgery, the head surgeon, who is also one of the top cancer OBGYN specialists in the country, carefully removed a 15-lb malignant tumor from Angela's ovary.
Angela, had no choice, if she wanted to live, to undergo a full hysterectomy. As a result, when she awoke from the five-hour surgery, her body went into total menopause where she suffered immensely with night sweats and hot flashes. Despite how cool her hospital room was, her nurses had to bring Angela a fan, in order to breathe.
Exactly two months from the date of her surgery, Angela underwent a rigorous chemotherapy plan that both her oncologist and surgeon were testing for the first time ever. They had never had a patient as young as Angela with this rare cancer and offered her two treatment options. One was to get chemotherapy treatments four times a week by staying in the hospital overnight or do six to eight cycles over a course of five months. Angela chose the latter. She is a very strong woman. Not wanting to lose any independence, Angela did these alone with God by her side. She is a woman of faith whom loves and worships our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
While undergoing chemotherapy, Angela had no idea that the toxicity from these drugs were causing other life-altering conditions. She developed chemo rash, neuropathy, bone pain, vision impairment, extensive weight loss then weight gain, and an abundance of inflammation in her bladder. She also had to have numerous surgeries to remove additional malignant tumors. They were also found in her stomach and lymph nodes. A few weeks later, she went in for a CT scan to see if the chemotherapy killed all of the malignant cells. Unfortunately, the results were not good. The doctors scheduled her to undergo a second round of chemotherapy in June 2023. However, it was not in God's plan. The cancer medication, Carboplatin, wasn't available until January of this year, 2024. While waiting, her cancer spread to other parts of her body. Thankfully, since January, she's been getting chemotherapy shot treatments in her bladder. Her latest PET and CT scan shows that small cysts that were originally found in her liver have grown tremendously. She continues to have neck, abdomen, and pelvic CT and PET scans to ensure any cancer is caught expeditiously. And, is constantly going to the doctor for medication (she takes around 17 medications per day), even taking a new one for prostate cancer to ease her bladder discomfort.
Angela did not want me to create this page because she is very private, has a lot of pride, and doesn't like asking for help. I told her that everyone needs help, at times. She REALLY needs help with her medical bills that continue to pile up! She has exhausted the maximum of her benefits and really needs help to live! She doesn't need to stress over medical bills, prescription medication, or anything else. She needs to focus on her health and getting back to her normal self. Angela cries each time she is denied going back to work and this has put a financial burden on her that is beyond taxing and traumatizing.
She is a woman who loves God and prays for everyone. Even though she lives with pain daily, she constantly smiles and brings love, joy, and hope to others. When you meet her, she will bring those to you also! She never complains, and her smile lights up a room.
With that being said, I am humbly asking for any contributions that you can make to help Angela with her medical expenses. Whatever you can spare, Angela would be exceptionally grateful. Please keep her in your prayers as she prays for others before she prays for herself. I daily tell her how well she is doing, but she has her days where everything seems to be too much. However, she thanks God she is still here.
May the Lord continue to bless you and your families. I pray that you or your loved ones never have to go through this. It's really gut-wrenching.
