This is Angelo. Angelo came into my life 4 years ago, as a little 3lb orange fluff ball. I had just got my first apartment during Covid, and needed a friend. I had just lost my grandmother who I was extremely close to, and from the day I got him he has helped me in so many ways and became my whole world. He has gotten me through some of the darkest times in my life. We share a very unique and special bond. He’s just such a happy and healthy, smart boy. Saturday January 25th, seemed like just another day, I kissed him goodbye before I left for work not knowing the nightmare that I’d come home to. When I got home, he jumped off the couch to greet me like he always does and I instantly noticed something wasn’t right with him, just by the way he was looking at me. He went from limping, to full loss of movement in his back legs in a matter of minutes. I immediately took him to Cornell, where they did an MRI, which showed his 11th and 12th discs were pressing on his spinal cord causing him immense pain, making him unable to use his hind legs at all, although he did have some feeling in his paws, which was a positive. They then told me my only option is surgery or else he could completely lose function in his legs permanently and become paralyzed. As I sit with so much sadness, completely heartbroken waiting for him to get out of surgery, the vet bills will be close to $10,000. I’m not one to ask for help but I really need it right now. Anything helps and I am so so thankful. Even if it’s just prayers for my baby boy ❤️
I will update when he is out of surgery.
