Support Angie Trevino's Urgent Medical Needs

Donation protected
About two months Angie Trevino, my friend and coworker started feeling very tired and began having stomach pains. If you know Angie, you know she can be a bit stubborn, especially about going to the doctor. It's understandable, she doesn't have health insurance and who wants to go to the doctor anyway? But Angie being tired and hurting is so far out of the norm it was really concerning. She was having severe pain in her stomach so she finally agreed to go and without insurance and a primary care doctor she went to a walk in clinic. At first they did some blood work and gave her some medication but it just didn't seem to be helping. She went back and more bloodwork was ordered. This was the beginning of it all...the medical expenses, a look into our healthcare system when someone doesn't have insurance and the beginning of the fight.

The bloodwork came back with some concerns and a CT scan of her abdomen was ordered. Let me tell you what, it is HARD to get that done when you don't have insurance and there is no payment plan. They just won't do it until you have the funds or credit to pay. She was finally able to get that done and the results are not good. She has a good sized mass and lesions on her liver. The doctor wanted her to see an oncologist and get a liver biopsy but no one, NO ONE would see her without insurance. How scary is that?

Finally, in so much pain, getting worse and scared she went to the ER. Guess what they did??? Not the biopsy, but they did get her a referral and an appointment with an oncologist. All of this being paid for out of pocket of course. The oncologist is very compassionate, which is great because things are hard right now! He ordered at PET scan another CT scan and more bloodwork. The bloodwork has been completed and the scans are scheduled for tomorrow. Again, payment up front. After that will come the biopsy and everything else will depend on the results of these tests.

Thankfully, someone has been able to lend her the funds to get this done and she is now enrolled in insurance however, the insurance will not go into effect until next month and these things cannot wait. Time is crucial. She is feeling worse and having more symptoms every day.

We are humbly asking for donations of any size, because everything helps! If you have never been in the position to have to ask for money, let me tell you it is humbling and not something that anyone wants to do, but sometimes it just must be done. It's too risky to wait and put off treatment any longer. Funds will go to back to the person who has so graciously been able to help her so far and then to pay for the additional scans, biopsy and doctor visits until insurance kicks in and then to help with copays/coinsurance/deductibles, etc. All of this and missing work, loss of income. Honestly, the goal at this time is a drop in the bucket but it will allow her to move forward with these next tests.

We would also ask you to please share this page so that she has the opportunity to get help from anyone who would like to donate.

And the most important for last, we need your prayers. Lots of prayers! Angie is such a faithful person and she knows we serve an awesome God! But she needs our Prayer Warriors to stand up and pray and fight on her behalf. Things are not looking good right now and she needs relief both physically and financially. Please find it in your heart to help.

Also, because she doesn't have the answers to so many questions yet, many of her family members have not yet been told. We respectfully ask you to private message or text her as opposed to publicly putting anything on her Facebook page until she can find out what is going on and informs the rest of her family.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart. God Bless!
