Support Anguesomo's Fight for Safety and Stability

Help Anguesomo Find Safe Housing and Support Asylum Process

Hi everyone,

I am posting this campaign on behalf of my good friend Anguesomo who is in need of immediate assistance.

Anguesomo is a queer Equatoguinean seeking asylum in the United States due to the strong anti-LGBTQIA+ sentiments in their home country. Additionally, as a hypervisible LGBTQIA+ cyberactivist on TikTok, Anguesomo has received direct threats from their country’s government officials and fellow countrymen. They believe that Anguesomo is ‘negatively’ influencing the youth to convert to homosexuality despite their platform's sole focus on self-love and radical self-acceptance as a queer and Black person.

Currently, Anguesomo is unable to work in the United States due to their status as a foreign national without work authorization, making it impossible to earn money. To make matters more urgent, their family's lease ends Wednesday, July 31st and their family plans to return to Equatorial Guinea as a result. However, Anguesomo cannot go back because it is not safe for them to do so.

Despite these challenges, Anguesomo is a fun-loving, artistic, and outgoing person pursuing a career in music. They have dedicated their life and music to education and encouraging the public to practice self-love, unlearn anti-Blackness and anti-LGBTQIA+ sentiments through song.

Anguesomo deserves a life where their basic human rights are secured, enabling them to focus on their passions: music, education and uplifting others. We can support this by donating or sharing resources, such as attorney contacts, to help them navigate this challenging time.

Why Anguesomo is Fundraising:
