Support Anna & Kyle's Recovery from Semi Crash

Donation protected
On their way home from Bass Coast Music Festival, Kyle and Anna were travelling home on the Coquihalla Highway, celebrating the end of a magical weekend with some of their closest friends. Out of nowhere, they were rear-ended by a semi truck, which then collided with the passenger side of the car. Anna was able to exit the car with a few scratches, but Kyle was trapped under the semi's tire for over 2.5 hours while Anna did her best to help.

We believe that the universe was looking out for Kyle on Monday - multiple, off-duty first responders happened to be in traffic that day and were able to provide early intervention (IV fluids, painkillers, and oxygen). We believe that these kind souls probably saved his life as it took hours for first responders to arrive and safely extract him from the vehicle.

Kyle was intubated and sedated, and transported to the trauma centre in New Westminster. Since then, he has made huge strides toward recovery and will be moved out of ICU soon! Doctors are optimistic that he'll make a full recovery. Although he experienced the unthinkable and is still in a ton of pain, he has been smiling, sharing kind words of appreciation for his friends and family, and cracking jokes.

Kyle and Anna are two of the most genuine, kind, generous, and spirited people we know! Anyone who knows Kyle knows that his voice and laugh can be heard from a mile away, he always has a joke and a kind word, and would do anything for the people he loves. It has been incredibly hard to see him in so much pain - but he has been so strong! Not many people are hit by a semi truck once and live to tell the tale, let alone TWICE - we are so grateful to still have both him and Anna with us.

Despite his positive prognosis, we are unsure of how long he and Anna will be unable to work. They have two dogs and a cat to care for and have a long road of physical and psychological recovery ahead of them. Their car was totalled and tons of their clothing and camping equipment was strewn across the highway.

As their community, we hope to come together to raise some funds to ease the financial stress so that Kyle and Anna can focus on healing, being together, and doing what they need to do for their physical and psychological health.

Anything you can give helps, and will be deeply appreciated by these two beautiful people and all their friends and family! We also appreciate you giving this a share, posting encouraging messages on this GoFundMe, and sending healing energy their way <3 Please give them space to process as they navigate this difficult time.
