Support Anna Walter's ICU Care & Medical Evacuation Home

Hello everyone and thank you for your support. My mother, Anna Walter, suffered a heart attack while on vacation in Playa del Carmen, Mexico on Tuesday 11/12/24. She was immediately transferred to a hospital in Cancun where she underwent a surgery overnight to install a stent in one of her arteries. We spoke with her the morning after and she was stable, seemed in good spirits and just needed some time to recover before flying back. However, her condition quickly turned critical and she has been in the ICU on a ventilator since Wednesday night 11/13/24. My dad, Lee Walter, brother, James Walter, my fiancé, Joe Livecchi, and I (Jen Walter) are in Cancun now and taking every day one at a time.
Anna is a wife, mother, sister, best friend, and more. This has been a difficult week for our family, especially while being out of the country. The hospital requires payment upfront for treatment, daily, with the hope that insurance may reimburse us later. There is no guarantee. Additionally, we are trying to arrange a medical evacuation flight to bring her back to Rochester. She is on a ventilator and this will require extreme care during travel. We are still not sure she is strong enough yet, but facilitating the transport takes a few days. There is hope insurance will cover the air ambulance but only to the nearest equivalent care hospital (Miami). We will have to pay the difference to get her back home to Rochester.
While she is critical, we are hopeful she will continue to fight and pull through. However, we need to be back home at some point to have proper medical care and support. Any funds received will help us pay for the emergency flight to Rochester and the many other expenses which are not reimbursed. Please keep us in your prayers.
Note, the cover photo was taken just a few days before the incident.
