Hello,
My name is Tavia and I am starting this fundraiser for my step-mother Anna-Marie, on behalf the Leduc Family.
We are fundraising to help cover the costs of Anna's ongoing Palliative Care and anticipated funeral costs.

Annas Story:
Anna was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer about a year and a half ago. Even though the survival rates weren't high, Anna stayed optimistic that she could and would fight to beat it. As time passed and with many chemotherapy treatments, it seemed the cancer had slowed down, and there was no spreading...
In January 2022, Anna and the family received unfortunate news; the cancer had spread to her liver and was likely to spread to other parts of her body. Anna began different chemotherapy treatments in hopes it would work to slow down or stop the growth so that she could undergo surgery. Sadly, we never found out if this chemotherapy would have worked...
In late March/Early April, Anna suffered a severe stroke moments before her baptism. She was rushed to the North Bay Hospital where they suggested a transfer to Sudbury Hospital to have emergency surgery to release the blockage. By the time the doctors in Sudbury were able to see Anna and investigate the stroke, to much time had passed...they could not operate. Initially they thought Anna wouldn't survive the stroke due to the intense depletion of oxygen in her left hemisphere of her brain. This was not the case...
After 2 or so weeks in palliative care, the family brought Anna home to be cared for while she lives out her days. Initially she seemed to be getting better... gaining back some movement in her mouth and face, moving her arms more etc. and the family was optimistic about some recovery from the stroke. However, things seemed to decline again and upon a MRI they learned the cancer had taken over her spleen and more lesions had developed in her pancreas and liver. This was June 7 2022.
Now, Anna will be taken home once again, to live out her days with her family by her side. It is unclear how long she has left.
During the past 2 years... medical expenses have added up. Family circumstances have made this especially difficult..
Once Anna was diagnosed, she retired from her position at the YMCA. My dad is on disability and is unable to work, he also is caring for Anna full-time.
Our family needs support to help cover the costs of the ongoing medical care Anna needs, aid in helping family members travel to see Anna before she passes as well as cover the costs of the funeral (which is anticipated to cost around $7000).
Thank you so much for reading and please donate... Any amount helps.
God Bless
