On the afternoon of December 21st, my brother-in-law, Anthony Magazzu, was struck by a drunk driver while in a parking lot. He sustained a broken hip and two fractures in his lumbar spine. For those unfamiliar with Anthony, he has cerebral palsy and already faces mobility challenges. Throughout his 37 years of life, he has undergone over 25 surgeries and years of physical therapy. Despite these difficulties, Anthony remains positive and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

This recent accident and the resulting injuries have made life particularly challenging not just for him, but also for his mother, Anita. Anita works as a caregiver, supporting several elderly individuals in our community. As a single mother, she has raised Anthony and his twin brother with unwavering dedication. Her commitment to Anthony’s well-being remains her top priority.
