Support Anthony Smokey's Recovery
Donation protected
Sunday afternoon, while attempting to visit and check on an elder on the Dresslerville Colony, my Uncle Tony was attacked by multiple pit bulls. This big man with a booming voice could not defend himself. He sustained many injuries to his head, arms, legs, and feet. He is currently at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, the only Level II trauma center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City. He had an initial surgery to repair his scalp. While he is stable and in good spirits, recovery will be long.
My Uncle, privileged with the duties and responsibilities of a Christian husband and father, is a respected community leader and culture keeper. This youngest brother, uncle, and cousin who leads by example will be out of work for several months.
The family anticipates remodeling the master bedroom and bathroom to make it easier for Uncle Tony to navigate safely once he can come home. His wife and daughters will need financial support to help pay medical bills, and transportation costs, and to cover hotel and transportation costs to ensure Tony is getting the best care. Much needed time to focus on healing.
It will be some time before the family knows how many more surgeries he'll need. But physical therapy will be necessary before walking, golfing, and hunting comes naturally.
