Anthony's Journey to a National Championship

Anthony is headed into his SENIOR year, and he has BIG goals! While many have started to kick back on their summer break, Anthony has been training relentlessly 4-5 times a week since April, surrounding himself with some of the best and pushing his limits. He competed in Juniors at all three Greco and Freestyle state qualifiers, tried out for the World team in Las Vegas and placed 5th in Greco, brought the heat at Central Regionals where he was champ in Greco, and at Ohio Northern University State Championships he was the Champ in GR and runner-up in FS. Ultimately, he has qualified for the largest wrestling tournament in the world, the National Championship in Fargo, ND in mid-July!!!

Before he heads to Fargo - Anthony was selected for USA Wrestling’s National Duals for Team Ohio. This weekend June 8/9th he is preparing at Duals Camp in Delta, Ohio with his fellow Team Ohio members. He will then go on to compete in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the National Duals Championship June 18th-22nd.

After Duals, he will then head to Fargo Camp training at Ohio Northern University early July. All of this hard work, dedication, sacrifice, and determination to get him to the grand stage at the National Championship on July 12th-20th.

FARGO!!! This is no easy accomplishment. Anthony will load the bus with his fellow Ohio wrestlers and make the 15+hr journey to North Dakota. He will live in the dorms at the university for the following week and compete in both styles GR/FS at the FargoDome, setting his sights on becoming a NATIONAL CHAMPION!!!

These opportunities do not come without support. Support in many forms, the encouragement from some of the best clubs, coaches, mentors, and friends. Support for Fargo and National Duals entry fees, housing, travel, food (tons of food) memberships, and gear.

We are asking for prayers for Anthony’s safety as he travels and competes. And as he has dedicated himself 100% to represent his school, the great state of Ohio, and his family, it would be impossible for him to hold a job to secure these funds.
