My name is Anthony Matranga but most people know me as “Tranga”. In December I will make 25 years of being a teacher. It has brought me so much joy over the years and it was truly MY LIFE! Unfortunately, this past December, I had a stroke and am now in a wheelchair working hard in rehab to get back to some sense of normalcy. Through this period, I had to not only incur new costs, but have also lost a significant amount of income and will continue to do so until I can be fully back on my feet and working again.
I have had so many people like you helping me along the way which leads me to posting this.
My next goal is to adjust life and transition into a place where I can begin to live more independently again. In order to do so, I need some Financial Assistance.
My income has and will be different for quite some time, until I fully recover and can figure out the next chapter in a career that I love so much. Jefferson Parish has been great in continuing my salary, but without my role of Director of Aftercare, I lost a good bit of my income. In order to pay regular living expenses, housekeeping, and additional medical expenses (home health care, medical equipment, etc), I will need to find a way to cover the gap. My hope is to maybe tutor part time, but at the moment I am planning for this next step.
I’ve been very blessed for having so many people reach out and help me so far, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without all of you!!
