Support Antoinette's Healing Journey

Hi my name is Senta Reis and I am fundraising for our dear friend Antoinette DeNardis. Last month Antoinette was in a serious car accident in Hawaii where she resides. Hit by an uninsured drunk driver, her car was totalled and she sustained a serious bone injury to her left elbow that required extensive reconstruction and also a fractured pelvis, along with bruising to chest and rib cage from the air bag. That impeded her breathing and was cause for oxygen therapy. Four hours of surgery to repair elbow went well but required a blood transfusion afterwards.

Antoinette's long recovery is progressing well. Her stay in the rehab facility has been powerful and uplifting. Soon we hope she will be released to stay near her only family on the island, daughter Chantal, who will help with her continuing recovery. Antoinette will be unable to work for several months at the very least. She is dependent on that income for basic expenses. We have raised some impressive funds to help cover basic needs, any medical expenses not covered by health insurance or medicare and to get a car to replace the one totalled by an uninsured driver. But we are not done yet! Please help with this final push to provide some financial security and transition without undue hardship. Her family has rallied and provided so much both financially and emotionally and they need our support too in this challenging time.

Antoinette feels grateful to be alive and maintains an upbeat manner in spite of the substantial pain and challenges ahead. Alleviating some of the financial insecurity will be important for her to continue having a positive mindset during the arduous physical therapy for this spirited 75 year old.
