Support Antonia through Stage 4 Cancer

Hi everyone,

I've been a friend of Tonii's for the past 10 years and she has been going through a difficult couple of years dealing with various health issues that had left doctors stumped. After many tests, biopsies, scans, MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds and surgeries, the doctors found some answers but not the ones any of us were hoping to hear.

Antonia was first diagnosed a few months ago with Gastroperisis, a chronic disorder in which your stomach muscles become paralyzed. She navigated this lifelong diagnosis with such grace and remained the sole provider for her two children. Tonii managed the hurdles of doctors appointments over the next few months while running her home based esthetics business.

After 2 years of seeking answers for lung issues and multiple lung biopsies and surgeries, Antonia was given the very difficult news that she has Stage 4 Epithelial Hemangioendothelioma Sarcoma (EHE). She is 1 of approximately 25 people in all of Canada diagnosed with this rare cancer. There is no cure. There are no chemo/radiation options in Canada at this time. There is very minimal research done for EHE sarcoma given the 1 in one million chance to be diagnosed with this cancer. There are some medications she is able to try to slow the growth of the innumerable tumors currently in both of her lungs but this is something she will being living with.

In the new year, Tonii's health is forcing her to drastically lower her work hours. I would like to show our support for this local Ladner single mom in this trying time and help her focus her energy on making memories with her family and taking care of her health. Let's come together as a community and take some of the financial burden off of her while she fights the fight of her life against stage 4 EHE sarcoma!
