Support Artemisia Nursery's Fire Recovery

Hello, this is Nicole Calhoun, owner of Artemisia Nursery.

For me, Artemisia Nursery is more than just a business. It's where I get to do the work I love: connecting people with plants and the natural world. For my band Sage Against the Machine, the nursery is a home base. Artemisia is where we practice, where we gather with our community and perform.

On June 22 a fire impacted Artemisia Nursery. Thanks to the heroic efforts of 88 firefighters no humans were hurt, no buildings were lost, and our nursery cat Buckwheat is safe and well. This could have been much, much worse. But we still took a hit. The fire caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to the nursery.

Our business is small, with little margin for error, and summer is our most challenging season. And so I am asking you for help.

Your donation will go towards replacing lost and damaged stock, and towards rebuilding damaged infrastructure. Any donations that exceed our recovery needs will go towards supporting our nursery operations, including Seedy Sundays – the FREE native plant propagation workshops we offer to the community.
