Forty Again Fest, Danny Weddle's 40th Birthday

I'm turning 40 and want to celebrate with all of you at my home, The Pink Poodle. I'm expanding my birthday square dance tradition into a full fledged festival featuring 2 nights of dance and over 40 musicians. The festival is called Forty Again Fest and will take place on September 6th and 7th.

This fundraiser is primarily to help cover the costs of hiring and hosting a whole bunch of good humans.
Budget
$700 Performers for Night 1: Stringbands and Square Dancing
- This night is a gathering of my music friends; old, new, and aspirational. My foundation in music is Old Time and this night is dedicated to that community and my personal journey of finding my voice as a musician. Headlining the night will be Rhys Jones and Travis Puntarelli. There will be a Square Dance called by Charmaine Slaven with music by The New Hoosier Broadcasters.
$300 Old Time Music and Dance Workshops
- We are putting together a 2 hour workshop taught by professional instructors that is open to anyone of any level. There will be two tracks, one for musicians and one for dancers. The lessons will be in group form for an hour, then we will have an hour group jam before the evening kicks into off.
$1000 Performer for Night 2: Song Writers and Contra Dancing
- We are pulling out all stops this evening. We will be running two to three stages at a time with musicians from all over the country including New Orleans, Nashville TN, and Louisville KY. These folks will be mixed with some of your favorite local heroes; Ziona Riley, Claire Frohman, and Busman's Holiday. We will also have a Contra Dance called by Chet Grey and Tamara Loewenthal, with music by Euphor.
Stretch Budget
$500-1000 : Local Film Crew: Audio / Video Documentation
- We want to hire local film and audio folks to document the festival. This documentation will be available to both The Pink Poodle and all contributing musicians.
$500 : Festival T-Shirts
- The artwork for the festival was produced by Sam Bartlett and the shirts would be printed by Wayne Chandler.
