Support Aruna and Daughter After Tragic Loss

Hello, my name is Aruna. I am writing this with a humble request for support and financial assistance during a challenging time in my life, stemming from a tragic loss.

Shortly after Father’s Day, my husband committed suicide.

He was the unfortunate victim of a cryptocurrency scam where he was skillfully manipulated into parting with our entire life savings. Through the shameless, methodical and savvy deception of these heartless cyber criminals, they utilized a “pig butchering” scheme and managed to convince him to pull every single penny out of our life savings, including all of our retirement funds. There is nothing left in our accounts, except debt and loans to pay.

This calamity played out over the course of eight weeks, and the weight of what my husband had done was too much for him to bear. He couldn’t deal with the shame and guilt he felt of bringing financial ruin onto his own family and took his life in this tragic moment of despair. I lost a dear husband, and my daughter lost a loving dad.

Now, I must focus on “living for the living”, to take care of my daughter, to finance her college education, and to care for myself. As I am working through my grief, I must also rebuild financially and humbly ask for your monetary contributions to help me with the burdens of loan liabilities, college tuition and expenses.

In Sep 2022, our family relocated from Chicago to Los Angeles. We did it to support our daughter's dream of graduating from a University of California school. We sold our house in Chicago, rented an apartment and started a new life in SoCal. I will carry those memories we shared.

I am truly and deeply grateful for anything you can share with me to get back on my feet again, and to support my beautiful daughter through school, who is the light in my life.

My final thoughts to leave with you: No material loss is ever worth exchanging for a life. It is so hard to fathom what happens in a person's mind. My husband had all the love and support from my daughter and I, but it wasn’t enough. I request all men to express and communicate their dealings, their feelings with their partners. Please do not be so harsh on yourselves. Mistakes happen, but can be corrected. You are not a failure. You are never alone.
