Support Asa Gray's Family in Their Time of Loss

On Sunday, July 28th, 2024, my nephew Asa Christian Gray was involved in a car accident in Raeford, NC. Due to the nature of his injuries, he was medivaced by helicopter to UNC Chapel Hill where doctors and medical staff fought to save his life. Unfortunately, his injuries were too severe, and Asa tragically passed away that afternoon.

Asa spent his last days enjoying his summer vacation with friends and family. He was slated to start his senior year at Westover High School in Fayetteville, NC this fall. Asa wore many hats. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle, friend, classmate, co-worker and so much more. He was a kind and gentle soul; often placing the needs of others before his own. Even at the young age of 17, Asa understood the importance of family and friendship. His love of dance and laughter was infectious and had a way of putting smiles on the faces of anyone around him. He was the embodiment of pure joy.

While Asa's departure has left a tremendous hole in the heart of our tight-knit family, it has been especially devastating for his mother and father, who are coping with the loss of their only son.

Our family has received an outpouring of love and support. Many have reached out to offer their condolences and share memories of Asa.

For those who have expressed their desire to help, I am sharing this platform as a means to support the family in their time of grief. All donations will go towards expenses related to Asa's medical care and funeral arrangements.
