Support Asa's Healing Journey

Donation protected
Most of you may have followed Asa’s story previously, but for those who have not: Asa swallowed a button battery on Oct. 13, 2023. He was in Texas Children's Hospital for 3 weeks, most of that time being in PICU. After being released from the hospital, he struggled to eat hard foods. He was constantly choking. He’s had to go back to Houston 8 times in the last year to have his esophagus stretched. After the last stretch, the doctors informed Kasey and Caleb that the stretches were no longer working. He had too much scar tissue built up, so they suggested that he have surgery to remove the scar tissues. After much hesitation, they finally agreed to the extensive 5+ hour surgery along with at least a 5-day hospital stay.

On Oct. 31, 2024, Asa had a successful surgery to remove the scar tissue. On day 5, which should have been his release day, he developed a fever (doctors are concerned about) and now is confirmed to have a leak in his esophagus. He will be in the hospital at least another 2 weeks. They will retest on Monday, Nov. 11th, to see if he has healed. Kasey and Caleb are both staying at the hospital with him. They are both missing at least 3 weeks of work and having to eat out for every meal. Anything you can send to help them get through this difficult time would be greatly appreciated. Please keep Asa in your prayers for a full healing, pray for mom and dad to have the strength to make it through, and for his 2 sisters that just want their family back together.
