Support Ashlee Craft After Sudden Loss of Father

Hi, my name is Ashlee Craft & my father, Danny Craft, passed extremely suddenly on Sunday evening from what the doctors say was cardiac arrest while I was at work. My mom was home with him when it happened & performed CPR for 10+ minutes but he had no heartbeat, & once the paramedics arrived, between my house, the ambulance ride, & at the hospital, they worked to save him for more than an hour & only briefly got a heartbeat back, but they weren't able to save him.

He was only 66 years old. He was enjoying his retirement & was looking forward to the holidays, his very favorite time of year. I always thought I'd have longer with him. I never would have expected this would have happened so soon.

I was close with my dad & lived with both my parents. My dad was retired so we already weren't the best off financially, but were were always lower income so he had no savings to leave us or pay for any of his last expenses. The toll of his death has hit us hard both financially & emotionally, so any assistance helping pay for cremation as was his wishes, & helping support my mom & I through this heartbreaking time are super appreciated <3

I miss my dad so much, more than I ever could have expected. It made it worse because there were no warning signs & it happened so suddenly. He had diabetes & often didn't feel his best because of that, so the last text he ever sent me was him telling me he hadn't felt good, but he was in the process of changing medications so I don't think any of us, including him, realized why until it was too late. I was at work when my mom called me, after they took him away in the ambulance. When I got to the hospital, it was confirmed that he was gone.

I already miss telling him stories about my work & the creative projects I was working on. I miss him just being out in the living room, talking to me while I used the computer, & just his general presence so much. I still can't believe that he is gone, & I wish I could hug him & tell him I love him one more time. I'm lucky that one of our last conversations we had was us talking about cars & my plants, & him telling me he was proud of me for how hard I work towards my goals & creative careers, & I will always cherish that.
