Support Ashley Combs in Her Fight Against Cancer

On December 18, 2024, Ashley Combs was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, the devastating effects of which can be far reaching.

In Ashley’s case, cancerous cells have accumulated in her spine and have caused lytic bone lesions. These lesions are areas where healthy bone tissue has been weakened or destroyed. As a result, Ashley has experienced at least one vertebral fracture and is now faced with significant pain and loss of mobility. She is completely dependent upon a walker.

Ashley will require more tests and scans in the coming weeks to determine the extent of the disease and a treatment plan. Possibilities include a bone marrow transplant, chemotherapy, radiation, and other therapies.

This diagnosis has come as a complete shock to everyone. Despite still coping with the unimaginable loss of her brother Brett in the recent past, Ashley is known for her strength, vibrancy, optimism, and cheerful demeanor. Her wit (sometimes dry or dark) brings a smile to all faces. She never hesitates to help those in need, be they animals or humans - many times with great sacrifice and always without complaint. Her appreciation for the simple things in life - quality time with the ones she loves, a walk through her favorite neighborhood, “treating herself” to cheese-based comfort foods - inspires others to cherish the simple things in their lives as well. It seems, then, a very unreal prospect that Ashley should receive such terrible news.

At the moment, there are many unknowns. What we DO know, however, is that Ashley has an incredibly large network of family and friends who love her dearly and will do anything they can to ease her burden. So while we can’t take away her pain or disease, we can alleviate any anxiety related to loss of income, medical bills, and unforeseen expenses. No donation is too big or too small.
