Ashley Guerrero has been at Aloha School for 7 years since 2014 as a director and as a teacher. She has poured her heart and soul into this school. Coordinating fundraisers, dressing up in superhero costumes for the kids, teaching them and preparing them for kindergarten and even helping to rebuild the school from the flood that completely destroyed it. There is nothing Ashley wouldn’t do for the school to make it the best it can possibly can be. She spent all her extra free time at night and on the weekends to go the extra mile for Aloha School creating amazing yearbooks for the kids and making over 40+ amazing carnival games by hand for the Superhero Carnival that she would organize each year. All these extra hours on her free time without any compensation. Her motivation has never been money it has always been her love for the kids. Out of the kindness of her heart and because she is a great artist she would do free Facepainting within the community & would do free painting for the kids at Hanalei School’s market days & Kilauea School’s fundraisers. When other schools in the community would have fundraisers she was always there helping out and volunteering to GIVE BACK TO THE KEIKI EVEN IF IT WASNT HER SCHOOL. Now she needs our help. Ashley was let go from her teaching position not due to misconduct, stealing, inappropriate behavior, violation or breaking of any policies. The reason given was that she is “not a good fit”. This means she won’t have health insurance and looses all her other benefits as well. There was no way for her to prepare for this sudden shock and as she will be looking for a new work place the bills will keep coming. Please help and support her during this tough and heart breaking transition. Anything helps. We love you Teacher Ashley
