Support Ashley's healing from rare brain surgery

On January 5th, our dear friend Ashley Kinnamon is scheduled to have surgery to remove a large brain mass. For years she has endured multiple symptoms, but did not assume they were related until an MRI revealed a benign but very large cystic mass compressing a section of her brain in October. Since then work has become a challenge. She is also aware that she will be away from work for a while before and after surgery. Because she is who she is, Ashley is ever-hopeful and infusing humor and grace into the situation as much as possible, but as you can imagine this is very hard to process and to plan for.

 

Due to the location of the cyst, there are only a handful of surgeons in the world who can perform this surgery. She is very confident in her surgeon, but he is located in Charleston, which has added an extra layer of difficulty. With out of state/out of network limitations, after insurance this procedure and associated pre and post appointments will cost $100,000.

 

Unfortunately, friends aren't the people who can solve your problems, but they are the people who face them with you.
