Hi everyone,

My name is Shawndell, and I’m a proud but struggling single mom of two incredible children. Today, I’m reaching out with a humble heart to ask for your support for my daughter, Ashley — a bright, kind, and determined young woman who has been accepted into Fordham University for this fall.

This is a huge achievement and a dream come true for Ashley. She’s planning to study Political Science, with hopes of one day becoming a lawyer or a leader who helps change the world for the better. She’s worked so hard through school, staying up late studying, volunteering in our community, and applying to every opportunity that could help her reach this moment.

But now, despite her hard work and acceptance into such a prestigious university, we are facing a heartbreaking financial reality — I simply can’t afford the cost of her tuition, room and board, and other expenses.

As a single mom raising two kids, I do everything I can to provide for my children — I work long hours, budget every penny, and make tough choices every day. But Fordham’s tuition is far more than I can manage, even with Ashley’s partial scholarships and financial aid.

I don’t want Ashley to miss this opportunity just because of our financial circumstances. She deserves a chance to pursue her education, grow into the amazing woman I know she’s meant to be, and build a better future not only for herself, but for others too.
