Plea for Ashlyn Magee
Ashlyn, is my granddaughter and she was diagnosed with AML leukemia with chromosome mutation. She is a sweet and loving 15 year old child whose medical staff are amazed at her strong cheerful attitude with all she is having to endure. She is now going through her fourth round of chemotherapy while waiting to find a willing donor for a bone marrow transplant. She lives in Louisville KY with her mother, while her dad, my son, lives in Mississippi over nine hours away. My son, a retired Army veteran with limited finances, is traveling extensively back and forth between his home and Louisville Kentucky.
So far Ashlyn has had three matching donors back out of donating the precious bone marrow she so desperately needs. She was originally to have had her transplant tomorrow July 3rd. The delays, coupled with the months long recovery from the transplant, are creating gut retching stress and financial burdens that are only held in check through prayer and faith that she will eventually come through this illness.
As family we are helping where we can, but I’ve never been in a situation like this. I am asking for your help to see our family through this hardship. Please donate if you can and please add Ashlyn to your prayers. Thank you in advance from a humbled grandfather.
