Support Aubrey & Benjamin’s Loss and Treatment!

My sister-in-law and brother, Aubrey and Benjamin, have suffered greatly throughout the last few months. The year started strong, with Aubrey learning that she was pregnant, and Benjamin was accepted to graduate school in Alaska. A growing family and an impending move made 2023 the year for big changes in their lives, and they were excited. Then in early March, Aubrey was admitted to the ER with severe pain, beginning the cascade for an ongoing series of tragedies, one after another. In the first hospital visit, Aubrey learned her appendix had burst a day or two prior, and she had an emergency appendectomy followed by a prolonged hospital stay to drain out the remaining infection. Thankfully, their baby was safe during the ordeal. A week after the ordeal, despite an apparent improvement in Aubrey’s condition following her return home, she was admitted once again to the ER after she went into early labor. Aubrey and Benjamin’s baby girl, Addie, was born prematurely, and this was due to an abscess which had formed behind her uterus post-appendectomy. With another week-long hospital stay to drain the abscess, Aubrey and Ben were heart-broken and defeated, and any hope that things would get better seemed like wishful thinking.Aubrey kept her drain and received at-home care following her discharge, during which she had learned from the general surgeon that he had concerns about intestinal inflammation he observed during the appendectomy. Once the drain was removed, she scheduled an appointment with a GI doctor, received a colonoscopy, and was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. She is currently undergoing expensive treatment to bring her into remission, and this plus all other medical expenses over the last few months have piled on to an overbearing load. These events nearly drained their savings, and with a move to Alaska on the horizon, they fear the worst for their financial stability and their future. I desperately want to help them, and so I put together this GoFundMe to give them the little push they need right now. A donation of $25 or more will go a long way to helping them get back on their feet during this tragic time in their lives. It will help pay their medical expenses, aid in their move, and may hopefully give them something extra to replace their lost savings. All money raised will go directly to them, and I encourage friends and family to help and spread the word.
