Hello, my name is Tiara & I am the mother of the 9 year old little girl that was struck by a car while trying to cross the road to board her school bus. Her name is Aubrielle. On November 7th 2024 I took my daughter to the bus stop & watched her get out of our vehicle & walk towards her bus to board it & head to school. Unfortunately, she never made it across the street to get onto her bus. She was struck by a car & thrown approximately 50 feet into the air, landing in a ditch. My child was killed on impact & her bus driver had to perform CPR to bring her back to life. She has sustained LIFE CHANGING injuries. A gaping hole was left in her head starting from the front of her scalp to the middle of her scalp, going all the down to her skull. My daughter’s left ankle was completely destroyed! Her fibula & tibia bones were snapped in half destroying her growth plate as well. She was in the ICU for 72 hours after being in surgery to close up her head and reconstruct her left ankle. Now thankfully we are on the long road of recovery but we are looking at possible future surgeries & amputation of her left foot due to the artery that supplies blood to the foot being so damaged as well. We are possibly facing severe migraines for the rest of her life because of her head injury and counseling for her because she is severely traumatized from this terrible event. Due to the injuries she sustained, I am unable to go to work & she cannot return to school until fully recovered. So I will be with my daughter 24/7 until we can get back to our normal lives.
