*****We are beyond grateful for the incredible generosity shown in supporting Audrey’s fight against Wilms Tumor. Thanks to your kindness, we reached our initial goal of $50,000. Every additional contribution is deeply appreciated and will go toward Audrey’s ongoing treatment. If we receive more than what is needed, we will donate the extra funds to support other families facing pediatric cancer. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.*****
Audrey was a healthy girl who was thriving in preschool and ABA. She had persistent fevers for 5 days. After being seen multiple times, she got labs on 11/22/24 which showed she was severely anemic.
She was sent to the Children’s Wisconsin Emergency Department and her parents mentioned to the doctors that she had seemed uncomfortable after being hugged earlier in the week. This ultimately led to her undergoing a CT scan where she was diagnosed with a Wilms Tumor, a type of kidney cancer found in young children.
On 11/25/24, she underwent 13 hours of surgery where the tumor and her right kidney were removed. During the surgery, the largest vein in her body had to be repaired. It took a large surgical team of 6 surgeons to fully remove the tumor.
Audrey is currently recovering from the surgery at Children’s Wisconsin with her loving parents, Kyle and Maria, and has a long road ahead of her. It was discovered that the cancer is aggressive and will require many months of chemotherapy and radiation. Her family and friends are all supporting this brave little girl every step of the way. They ask that you keep Audrey in your thoughts and prayers during her fight as well as Kyle, Maria and her big sister, Charlotte.
Audrey will begin treatment in a couple of days, which includes 42 weeks of planned chemotherapy and radiation. Your donation will help offset upcoming costs of overnight stays at Children's as well as helping to offset the costs of unpaid work days that Maria will be taking over the course of the treatment.
Thank you for your prayers, generosity, and all other forms of support you can offer to the Park family at this time.
