Support Avery's Essential Surgery Recovery

The Husbands Eberlein need community support! This coming September 5th Avery is having a hysterectomy. While August is going to be applying for PFML (paid family medical leave), it won't cover 100% of the hours missed from being a caretaker for anywhere from 2 to 8 weeks. The length of time depends on how healing goes, how many folks are available to keep Avery company during when August might be able to get some hours in, etc.

In light of literally everything going on with regards to transgender health and reproductive health, especially given the overturning of Roe v. Wade, it has become imperative for this operation to happen this year, before the election. We are afraid this is Avery’s only chance to have this procedure done before the laws in the United States change significantly. Examples include but are not limited to:

-Avery’s Male gender marker keeps him from having OBGYN procedures

-Hysterectomies become illegal for individuals under a certain age, or in general barring medical emergency

-Trans healthcare will be under legal fire with the upcoming election and fallout thereafter

We hope to use the money we raise here to supplement the PFML for our living expenses during Avery’s recovery – utilities, cat food and litter, household goods, and OTC pain relief/management that wouldn’t be covered by insurance.
