Support AVPEA's First Veterans Parade & Events

Hello,

My name is Julia and I am the founder and president of AVPEA (American Veterans Parade & Events of Anacortes). It is our mission to honor our Veterans and build community around them.

We aren't just putting together a parade, we are putting together a full production to ensure our mission. We have 3 events happening on Sunday November 10th 2024:

1. Our 1st Anacortes Parade: 1pm-3pm on Commercial Avenue 3rd-10th Street route.

2. The Static Viewing Event at Causland Memorial Park concluding the parade. With entertainment from 2:30pm-5pm. We will have food trucks, music, speakers, our first parade float contest, booths, military vehicles and more.

3. Our Veterans Dinner & Fellowship Event is for those who would be more comfortable in a more semiformal atmosphere, bringing bother Veterans & community members to the table to build community. This event is our sponsored event to help cover the costs of all three events and the launching of AVPEA to ensure these events and others will continue for generations.

I have started working on coordinating these events since April 2024. However with it being our first of its kind, it has taken awhile to get traction, connections and sponsors. So, I am creating this GoFundMe to ensure our mission is a community effort as we can't do it without your support.

We have more then 10 booths confirmed for our Static Viewing Event including booth for kids. 3 Food Trucks plus a Kettle Corn truck & a coffee truck. Some incredible Veteran speakers, live music and more. Everything has been coordinated, now we just need your help to ensure its success.

At both the Dinner & Static events, we are providing a free dinner to our registered Veterans. This is the least we can do for our Veterans and for their service. Donations will help these costs as well as some of the following:

The AVPEA nonprofit costs:

AVPEA (American Veterans Parade & Events of Anacortes) is a registered 501c(3) organization in Washington state, but for the tax-exemption status, this is a process that can take up to another 6 months or so, and costs to have help to ensure done right.

Table of Honor: Tribute to our Unknown Soldiers $100

This table will be set for the Unknowns, to bring honor to them. We will have a display of logos of everyone wishing to sponsor this table and showing your patriotic tribute to them.

Community Member Dinner Ticket $40

Our goal is to build community around our Veterans. This happens through fellow: having a meal together, telling stories and building relationships. We would love to welcome community members to the table with this mission, proceeds of your ticket will go to providing dinners for our Veterans during the Static event and the Veterans Dinner event.

Cover a Veterans Meal at the Static Event $20

It is our focus to ensure every Veteran who registers to be at our Veterans Parade & Static Event receives their free dinner. If you wish to provide a meal, we can have a personalized message from you within their Thank you packet which will hold their voucher for the food trucks.
