Support Axel Smart's Road to Recovery

I am reaching out to you on behalf of Axel Smart, a bright and energetic ten-year-old boy who recently experienced a traumatic accident. Axel, the beloved son of Tracy and Derek Smart, was hit in the head with a baseball while warming up for his baseball game. What initially seemed like a minor injury quickly escalated into a serious medical emergency.

Axel was rushed to the ER, where a CT scan revealed an epidural hematoma—a dangerous condition that required immediate attention. He was urgently flown to Children's Hospital, where a team of skilled surgeons performed a critical operation. Thanks to their expertise and Axel's fighting spirit, they were able to stop the bleed and remove the clot from his head.

Axel is currently out of surgery and doing well. He is awaiting an MRI and is expected to be moved out of the ICU soon. While we are incredibly grateful for his progress, the journey to full recovery is just beginning.

The emotional and financial toll of this unexpected event is immense. Tracy and Derek are devoted parents who are now faced with significant medical expenses, including emergency transport, surgery, and ongoing care.
