Dear family & friends,
I have recently decided to go on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic with a team from my
church, Life Source International Churches (LSIC). Over the past year, I have felt the Lord
prompting me to do a few things. Beginning my sophomore year of high school, I have had this
desire to learn Spanish and use the language to minister to native speakers about the Good News.
Having this in mind, I went above and beyond to learn the language: I have been taking classes
at my high school, creating Spanish lesson plans for my parents, and trying to surround myself
with as much of the language as possible. Just recently I took the Spanish biliteracy exam to
measure my proficiency. We are waiting for the results.
I am very excited about this trip because we are following the example of Jesus by going and
making disciples of all nations, teaching them to observe all things that He has commanded us
(Matthew 28:19-20). We are also seeing a positive change in the lives of needy people in that
region of the world. God is doing great things and I am grateful to have the opportunity to be a
part of it!
LSIC will be working alongside missionaries with a ministry called DR Mission
(www.drmission.net) during this trip. DR Mission is involved in church planting, Christian
education for children, and economic development. I cannot think of a better way to spend my
time than sharing the Gospel with others and allowing God to change my own heart and life in
the process!

During the next several weeks I will be working very hard to raise the funds needed to go and I
wanted to begin by asking you! A fee of $700 still remains and is due on May 30th. Any amount
you give will be greatly appreciated! If you are unable to financially support me in this way, no
worries! I would just ask you to spiritually fund the trip by praying for me and the team going!
