Support Mamayan After Unjust Arrest and Eviction at UChicago

URGENT Fundraiser for Evicted Pro-Palestine and Black Student!
After being removed from campus housing, meal plans, and losing their main source of income, the funds will go toward Mamayan's living costs, transportation, and other necessities.
On December 11, UCPD and CPD officers showed up at Mamayan's dorm room door. They were arrested for their alleged attendance at an on-campus protest asking the university to divest from genocide. This is the second student, that we know of, to be arrested in connection to the October 11 campus demonstration. Similar to the arrest of Student A, admin placed Mamayan on an involuntary leave of absence for their alleged participation in a pro-Palestine protest at UChicago, during which police attacked protestors, beat students with batons, mass pepper-sprayed, and drove a squad car into a crowd.
The police detained Mamayan for over 30 hours. They now face serious charges and an involuntary leave of absence—despite no evidence being presented against them.
UChicago has forced Mamayan out of their home, job, on-campus community, and are threatening them with arrest if they step foot on campus. They are imposing an unjust, unlawful sanction on this student in violation of its own policies and state law.
We must remain unified! All funds given here will go directly to Mamayan.
**Half of the money donated here will be donated to a separate fundraiser chosen by Mamayan, with receipts posted to our Instagram @uchicagounited**
