Support Baby Bryson’s Fight for Life

Dear friends, family, and caring strangers,

We are requesting prayers and support for baby Bryson, his parents, Lily and Brandon Gutierrez McCoy, and 2 year old sister, during an incredibly painful ordeal. On November 29th, after a festive family outing, six month old Baby Bryson developed a cough and breathing problem that resulted in his hospitalization at JoeDiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, Florida.

Sadly, days later, with his parents at the hospital bedside, Baby Bryson went into cardiac arrest, leaving his parents in complete

shock and devastation. Baby Bryson was transferred to the cardiovascular ICU, where he was diagnosed with a rare heart condition called ALCAPA. Bryson remains in ICU fighting for his life on a vent, ECMO and dialysis machines, and with other multiple health complications. He has demonstrated recognition of his mother’s tender voice (a source of tremendous joy in the midst of such sadness), but requires sedation at times to optimize his chance of recovery.

This has been a nightmare for his parents, who have remained at Baby Bryson’s bedside while also caring for their two year old daughter (who cherishes her big sister role). Brandon, currently the sole provider for his family, has been unable to return to work as he and his wife juggle between Baby Bryson and their young daughter. Baby Bryson is always in the company of one or both his parents, as they receive medical updates daily from multiple hospital staff. Both remain prayerful and hopeful their precious boy will pull through this. Their time with Bryson is a precious gift and a priority during these uncertain days.
