Support Baby Cole’s Medical Journey

Cole Taylor was born on the mid-morning of June 15. After a smooth delivery, Cole began to experience issues. He was born with a vascular ring, which had been previously detected via ultrasound. After birth, it was discovered that he has a bilateral partial cleft palate, a severe tongue tie, and his tongue sits back far in his mouth. All of this created issues with feeding. As a result, Cole was transferred from St Luke’s to Children’s Mercy on 6/18 and has been hospitalized since. He had a nasal feeding tube in and after several days of trying to do a combo feeding of tube/bottle, the doctors determined he needed to be tube fed only to prevent him from having milk build up in his throat and nasal passages due to the cleft. Cole also had a bronchoscopy done to evaluate his trachea. At the same time, his nose tube was replaced with a G tube and he will be tube fed for several months up to a year, until the cleft palate can be repaired (approx. 12-18 months of age).
Cameron and Lindsay have been in the hospital since the night of 6/14 when Lindsay went into labor. As of now, a discharge date is soon but not confirmed yet. When they go home, Cole will receive home health care to meet his medical needs. While Lindsay and Cam have insurance, his medical needs are costly and he is still due for more procedures (vascular ring repair, G tube replacement at 10 weeks of age and then every 12 weeks after that, Speech/Feeding therapies, cleft palate repair, etc.).
They have been flooded with help in the form of dog sitters, DoorDash gift cards, visitors, yard/house work assistance, and meals, but the medical bills are already rolling in, so that is their biggest need. 100% of the proceeds after GFM takes their cut will go towards easing the burden of Cole’s on-going medical expenses.
