Support Baby Eimyrja and the Manning Family

Welcome to the world Eimyrja (pronounced Eye-Meer-Ah) Charla Manning! Eimyrja was born with a rare condition called OEIS Complex, and she needs your help.

Eimyrja was blessed to be born into a loving family with two amazing parents, Brycen and Kimi Manning, and a big brother Magnus, who is so excited to have a new sister.

Eimyrja was born on Nov. 28 and the world has already fallen in love with her; however, her medical condition has created a lot of stress and worry for this young family. Eimyrja needs multiple surgeries and is projected to have a lengthy stay in the NICU at Seattle Children’s Hospital, a distance of over 60 miles from the family’s home on Camano Island.

Eimyrja was born with OEIS Complex, and although her prognosis is positive, she has a long journey ahead of her, and the extent of the complications is not yet fully known. OEIS stands for the following:

O = Omphalocele

Omphalocele causes multiple organs in a child’s abdomen to develop outside of the body, putting the child at risk for infection, pinching of organs, and underdevelopment of the chest cavity (causing breathing complications).

E = Exstrophy of the Bladder and Rectum

Exstrophy causes parts of the bladder, colon, and rectum, to form inside-out, or form into two separate halves on the surface of the child’s abdomen.

I = Imperforate Anus

The child’s large intestines may not fully connect to the rectum to form a proper anus, which can cause serious infections with multiple organs and long-term problems with expelling waste from the body.

S = Spinal Defects

The child’s spine may have multiple defects, which can either be major or minor. Often children born with OEIS are also born with some degree of spina bifida.

Today, 12.5.23, Eimyrja underwent her first surgery — the first of several that she’ll need to correct many of the complications caused by OEIS. Her parents and big brother are staying in Seattle with her, covering her with love and prayers, but they have a long journey ahead. Eimyrja is a fighter with a supportive family, but the added stress of medical bills and the cost of staying in Seattle to be by her side is quickly adding up.

All money donated through this GoFundMe will be first put towards Eimyra’s medical bills and then used to help defray the cost of the family’s lodging and meals away from home while they stay in Seattle to be near their sweet baby girl.
