Support Baby Isaac's Critical Recovery
Donation protected
Hello, family and friends! I am Junior, the brother of Isaac.
We appreciate you taking the time to read our family's story. The Ledezma family has been enduring a challenging time. On Sunday night, August 18, around 11 PM, Issac Jr started experiencing headaches. As his father massage his head for relief, baby Issac suddenly lost consciousness. Isaac, his father, initiated CPR and successfully revived him. Upon arriving at the hospital, doctors initially suspected a potential brain aneurysm and informed the Ledezma family that baby Isaac's condition appeared serious. Due to the severity of his condition, emergency personnel airlifted him to Randall Children's Hospital. Unfortunately, they delivered the worst news to the Ledezma family, informing them that young Isaac might not survive the flight.
Once they brought baby Isaac to Randall Children's Hospital, they managed to stabilize him though his condition remained critical. Immediately doctors began the urgent search for answers. To prevent any further brain damage from ongoing seizures, the doctors placed baby Isaac in a medicated coma. After countless prayers baby Isaac was finally showing progress. Test results came back showing little brain damage and lots of brain activity. On August 22nd, test results finally indicated that he was born with a rare AVM, which is characterized by an abnormal connection between arteries and veins, typically occurring in the brain or spine. Surgeons are contemplating the best approach for the ruptured vein, either performing an operation or applying radiation. To lower the risk of further brain damage, he will continue to receive sedation during this time.
Every day, his parents Jennifer and Isaac sit by their baby boy Isaac's side, praying for his recovery. At the moment, their four other children remain at home feeling the absence of their parents. Isaac's constant back-and-forth trips have made things significantly more difficult. Not being able to work and support his family has increased the challenges he faces. No matter how much you can contribute, we are truly grateful. If financial support isn't an option for you right now, please consider sharing our message with friends and family; it would make a significant difference.
Update so far, Lil Isaac is able to move and react to voices like his parents talking to him and even scratch itches he has on his face every now and then. Still waiting on when he will have surgery but he is still considered critical. The doctors have told them it is going to be a long stay but I’m hoping it will change over time.
Update: lil Isaac is up and with out a breathing tube, he is more active early in the day and is able to talk and remember everyone so far. They decided to go ahead and go with a surgery to fix the damaged vein in his head so that will be scheduled for sept 6.
