Support Baby Jones: An IUGR NICU Journey
Donation protected
On April 24, 2024, Jones Allen Mayton made his grand entrance into the world, weighing only 1 lb., 1 oz. His parents, Corey and Mira Mayton, were overjoyed to finally meet their little one at only 28 weeks.

Corey, a devoted Atlanta Braves fan, had dreamt of having a son named after his sports idol, Chipper Jones. Fate seemed to intervene when, on the night of Jones' birth, the announcer at the Braves game mentioned that it was Chipper's birthday.
However, Baby Jones' journey has been far from easy. Early in her pregnancy, Mira learned that Jones was measuring four weeks behind (less than 1st percentile for weight) due to severe Intrauterine Growth Restriction (IUGR). The condition restricted his ability to receive proper nutrition from the placenta. The first high risk doctor they visited gave him zero percent of survival. Despite the challenges, the Maytons continued to fight, finally finding a doctor who was up for the challenge.
Mira was admitted to Augusta University Medical Center for constant monitoring on April 22. Although the doctor initially anticipated a five-week hospital stay before delivery, Jones' escalating heartbeat necessitated an emergency C-section after just two days.

Currently, Baby Jones is in the NICU, fighting but thriving. While he's doing remarkably well for his age and size, he still has a long road ahead of him.
The medical expenses and other costs associated with Jones' care will be significant, and any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. Your support would mean the world to the couple and would help alleviate any additional stress on the family.
Thank you for your love, generosity and prayers!
