Support Baby Mateo's Fight

Our tiny grandson, baby Mateo was born 6 weeks early, after his mommy developed Preeclampsia.

In order to save our daughter and baby Mateo, they had to induce labor.

During labor baby Mateo started showing signs of distress, and the decision was made quickly to do an emergency C-section to save him and his mommy. He was born 10/17/23 at 5:19 pm weighing 3lbs 8.6oz.

Two days following his birth, baby Mateo started having complications with his breathing and had to be put on support, with the issues continuing, x-rays and further testing began. Results found he had pressure building in his abdomen caused by a hole in his intestines. Not knowing potentially how bad the issue was, the NICU team in Medford decided he had to be transported five hours away from Medford to a level 4 Neonatal Children's Hospital in Portland. In Portland, a team of doctors were waiting to access him and perform emergency surgery as soon as he arrived. His mommy had not yet been released from the hospital, so she was not able to go with him but his daddy, Jordan, was able to ride in the ambulance with him. The procedure went well but it is still uncertain if they will need to have additional surgeries. At this time the doctors are saying he will need to be in the hospital in Portland for at least 2 months. Lexi and Jordan will be by his side, which means they are unable to return home for work and to their fur babies. This sweet little family can use all the prayers and support they can get to be able to continue to pay their rent at home and all other expenses, while they are awaiting the day they get to bring their precious baby home.
