Support Baby Mya's Brave Battle

This sweet child is baby Mya. On June 18, at only 6 months old, Mya underwent brain surgery to remove a tumor in her right temporal lobe. This discovery came as quite a shock to her family. Kellsey and Jarid (mom and dad), as well as her big sister, have been taking great care of Mya at home since the surgery. At this point, they await pathology results which will decide the next course of action in her treatment plan.

Mya must be monitored 24 hours a day for seizures. Close monitoring of these seizures is necessary as they affect her breathing, and she is on multiple medications which need monitoring as well. Both parents have missed a great deal of work, with Kellsey being unable to return to her job as a nurse. First and foremost, she is Mya’s mommy and caregiver, and Mya’s comfort is most important currently. Mya’s a happy baby who has a bright smile and a brave spirit. Mya loves her big sissy, mom and dad, and her pet donkey and loves spending all her time with them.

My heart led me to start this fundraiser on behalf of the Bates family. Both parents are hard-working, loving, and honest people. The Bates are also remarkably humble and would never ask for any help. My hope is that by raising money, we can relieve some financial strain they may endure in the uncertain future. All funds received will go directly to Kellsey and Jarid to help with living, travel, and medical expenses.
