Support baby RJ and his ongoing medical care

On July 16th, 2019, Christina gave birth to her son Rj. Prior to birth of baby RJ, during routine ultrasound at 32 weeks, doctors found that her baby boy had a missing kidney. Three weeks later, they were referred to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), to have an intensive ultrasound done. At that time Christina was given the devastating news that doctors found other abnormalities with her baby boy that had gone undetected.

Ultimately, RJ was diagnosed with Fraser Syndrome https://rarediseases.org/rare-diseases/fraser-syndrome/ a rare genetic disorder. Fraser Syndrome is so rare there are only roughly about 250 cases worldwide reported. It is estimated that Fraser Syndrome occurs in about 1 out of 500,000 individuals. Symptoms include abnormal kidney function, hypospadias https://www.urologyhealth.org/urologic-conditions/hypospadias, malformation of the ear structure, hearing loss, fusion of eyelids and skin between fingers and toes. RJ also suffers from abnormalities of the rectum function and airway tract. In addition to the symptoms associated with Fraser Syndrome, RJ was diagnosed with Metopic Craniosynostosis, which is a pre-mature fusion of the suture on the skull while in the embryo stage. RJ has very small eyeballs (globes) with lack of bony structure around the eye with total coverage of the eyeball (globes). RJ is essentially blind in both eyes

RJ will need multiple surgeries. He currently has undergone airway reconstructive surgery to help his breathing. RJ has complete Crytophthalnos (fusion of the eyelids) because of this doctors believe he could benefit from having surgery that will attempt to open his eyes. This surgery is risky and doctors cannot guarantee vision.
