Update on Baby Rory

Sweet Baby Rory has been such a fighter, making progress in her recovery. However, doctors recently discovered a small hole in her heart, meaning she will need another surgery. This was unexpected, and our hearts are heavy as we prepare for the next step in her journey.

Haley is by Rory’s side every single day, arriving at the NICU at 6:30 AM and staying until the evening. Her incredible mother comes to support them both, giving Haley a short break to eat and shower before she heads right back to the hospital, where she stays as long as she can. Through it all, Baby Rory is surrounded by love, receiving endless snuggles that truly make a difference in her healing.

Update 1/17:

Sweet Rory is still in the trenches of her recovery. We received notice that they found fluid around Rory's lungs, and placed her on medication to handle the fluid. A few days later, Rory pulled out her feeding tube and was taken back to surgery to replace the tube. Although Rory struggled to come out of anesthesia, she is safe and back on a stable road to recovery. Thank you so much for all of the donations so far, we still have a long way to go.

Support Baby Rory Jo’s Journey to Recovery

On December 22, Cody and Haley’s lives were forever changed when they welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Rory Jo, into the world. Though she arrived a month early, Rory Jo was a tiny but mighty bundle of joy, weighing just 4 lbs. 7 oz.

However, their joy quickly turned to concern. On December 23, doctors discovered that Rory Jo’s esophagus was not connected to her stomach, a rare and serious condition requiring immediate attention. She was transported to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where an incredible team prepared her for surgery.

On Christmas Eve, Rory underwent a six-hour surgery to repair her esophagus. Thanks to the skill and dedication of her medical team, the surgery was a success. But Rory’s journey is far from over—she still has a long road of recovery ahead.

Cody and Haley have been by Rory’s side every step of the way, but the unexpected medical challenges and extended hospital stay have created significant financial strain. Between medical expenses, time away from work, and the costs of staying close to Rory during her recovery, they could use our help.
