Baby William Buscher with a brain tumor
Donation protected
Hey y'all! My name is Kelly Murphy. I recently had the pleasure of meeting the sweetest 8 month old baby boy named William Buscher. William is the son of Caleb and Bree Buscher. At about 6 months of age, William's mother began noticing one of his eyes shaking. Just within this last month, she began to notice the other eye shaking as well. She took William to the pediatrician who referred them to an eye specialist. The specialist said his eyes looked structurally normal and decided on an MRI to hopefully have better understanding of what was going on. The MRI showed he had a mass in his brain.
Bree and Caleb immediately took William to St. Louis Children's hospital. The chief neurosurgeon, as well as several other doctors formed a team, and created a plan to do a biopsy of the mass. Thankfully, they were able to perfom the biopsy using a robot and a needle, making a small incision in the top of his head to retrieve the sample. The tumor is located near his pituitary glad, thankfully it is not affecting anything as of now. The specific name of the tumor is Pilocytic Astrocytoma. While in the hospital, the doctors seemed very confident that the tumor can be treated by putting a port in and doing chemotherapy without having to go in and remove it.
There were a few appointments this last week that had to be cancelled due to insurance coverage issues. Thankfully on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 baby William is scheduled to meet with the oncologist which hopefully sheds a little more understanding of what to expect on his chemotherapy journey. On 11-16-2022 William will get his port put in. At this time, Bree and Caleb are unsure if treatment will begin the same day. One thing is for certain, there will be lots of trips to and from St. Louis Children's hospital which is a 2 hr. drive one way.
I am in hopes of help from family, friends, and communities near and far to help take a bit of the financial load off sweet baby William's family, so they can be there to love him through every single moment of his treatment without worrying about expenses. $1 or $5, no donation is too small. If you are unable to donate, please be in prayer for this sweet baby and his family and share their fundraiser! Thanks so much for taking the time to read baby William's story, God Bless!
