Support Bailey Cat's Journey to Better Health

Bailey has been in my life for 12 years now. After being raised with animals, going off to college without a furry companion was tough. Finally, my junior year, I got Bailey & he's been the best furry companion a girl could ask for more than a third of my life.

In college, he was the life of the party. He always had to greet & cuddle with everyone who came over. He had a specialty of finding that one person who wasn't a cat person & making sure to sit on their lap until they loved him (including doing this to my husband, who is now a proud cat dad!)

Bailey is also famous for his bell on a string, a simple toy my mom put together for him as a kitten that he grew to carry around in his mouth like a security blanket.

Every vet Bailey has ever seen has said he's the sweetest, most well-behaved cat they've worked with, and at this point, he's seen his fair share of vets.

In June, Bailey started having a tough time breathing, a scary thing for a cat mama. It took about a month & several visits to different vets to get a diagnosis: chylothorax. He has lymph fluid leaking into his chest.

After several chest drains over the next couple of months, we wanted more answers as to why this was happening & what more could be done about it.

Finally, with enough fluid drained from his chest, we were able to see an obstruction on an X-ray & ultrasound that is likely causing this to occur.

Surgery would allow them to remove the obstruction (either a mass or twisted lung lobe), tie off a lymph duct, remove the sac around his heart to relieve pressure from fluid, & add a catheter for easier access & less invasive future chest draining.

Anything you can give to help us save our very loved Bailey would be greatly appreciated!
