All Paws in for Bark Social Alexandria Staff

As many of you may have heard, on Thursday November 21st at 10pm, we were abruptly and without warning, informed that Bark Social would be permanently closing effectively immediately. The closure of Bark Socials is devastating to many, but the impact to the Alexandria location is immense. For many of us, Bark Social Alexandria was unique in its tight knit community feel, where we all had the chance to meet one another, and know our furbabies would be cared for by the most amazing staff. We are devastated for the incredibly caring and dedicated staff who loved our dogs like their own. They gave them individual attention that we won't get anywhere else. We were always assured our dogs were in the best hands, strengthening our bond of community. As long time members will agree, we are all extremely disappointed. When Bark Social purchased Barkhaus in November of 2023 members were assured they'd maintain the integrity and soul of the original Barkhaus. Out of all the locations, we could argue they have let this location down the most both with its empty promises to the loyal community and their hardworking staff. We have created this gofundme in hopes that our tight knit community will continue to rally together to support the staff, who have been (and will continue to be) the most impacted by this closure. We have learned that Bark Social itself is filing for bankruptcy, and staff will not receive severance. We are absolutely devastated and appalled at the way Bark Social has treated its loyal staff members. Not only were they uninformed of this closure, but now must worry about their bills. With this being so close to the holidays, we hope you can find it in your heart to support the devoted staff who have made you feel comfortable, loved your dogs like their own, never made you feel alone, and always ensured you knew you had a friend in them.
