Support Basil and Shooq in reuniting and rebuilding

Hello, my name is Abigail, and I am raising funds on behalf of my friends, Basil and Shouq Qadih. Basil is stuck in Gaza, while his wife and many of their family members are in Cairo, where I met her while volunteering. I will share all funds with them as soon as possible, as food and medical care are desperately needed. Basil is also trying to secure more stable housing as winter approaches, and purchase blood pressure medication for his mother, which has tripled in price. He has included a message below.
With love and solidarity,
Abigail
My name is Basil Qadih.
I am contacting you in a time of urgent need. My family and I were displaced since October 7 from eastern Khan Younis to southern Khan Younis due to the continuous shelling and ongoing conflict. Then we were displaced to Rafah and tried to live under miserable conditions in tents. It is difficult for me to find a description of what we face every day in Gaza. No food, no medicine, no clean drinking water.
Disability, psychological pressures and trauma due to the loss of loved ones. My life was going normally and stable. I had a home to shelter me and a job that provided for my daily sustenance and the needs of my family. But suddenly and without warning, everything collapsed. I lost my home, which was my safe haven and home, and I was forced to leave my job, which was my only source of income.
Now I find myself at a crossroads, suffering from challenges that I never imagined I would face. Life has become difficult, as I face daily difficulties to provide the simplest needs. I'm not asking for much, just a chance to rebuild what I lost, and start a new life in a safe and stable place. Now we are approaching winter and the weather is difficult to live in a thin plastic tent. We now need help to build an alternative home, a caravan, a semi-temporary house to protect us from the cold winter and rainwater.
Any support, no matter how small, can make a huge difference in my life and help me get back on my feet. Thank you to everyone who is thinking of lending a helping hand, and I hope that one day I can return the favor and help others as you have helped me.
With sincere thanks
Basil Qadih
