Help Basma Support the Elderly and those with Special Needs

My name is Alison. I'm from Philadelphia but have family & friends in Gaza. Like me, you've probably contributed to many worthy fundraisers for Palestinians in Gaza. This appeal is a bit different. I'm partnering with my daughter's step-mother Basma who is helping orphaned children and widows get food and hygiene supplies. This project is an expansion of Basma's earlier efforts to provide personal hygiene items to women (see photo) and help pregnant and postpartum women.

Basma and her friends are resourceful and tireless in assessing the needs and situation around them. Shortages of goods are shifting constantly, so they provide what is most needed based on what is available in the dwindling markets. All while dealing with their own needs and multiple displacements. I am distributing the funds directly to Basma, who is providing the updates I've shared.

I visited Gaza in the summer of 2023 and met Basma, who is an amazing woman. That visit seems like a distant dream.
