Support Beaced-A 99-year-old Scarlet Knights Fan in Need

Dear Friends,

We are reaching out to support one of the oldest and most cherished members of our message board- Beaced, known to many as Burt. At 99 years old, Burt has been a loyal Rutgers University (RU) fan for over 80 years. His passion for the Scarlet Knights runs deep, and his heart is as full of RU pride as it was when he first became a fan.

Sadly, Burt is facing a difficult time. He has chronic heart failure, balance issues, and, while his mind remains sharp and witty, his body is no longer able to keep up. Burt can no longer care for himself independently, and his loving daughter, who cares for him along with an aide, is stretched thin. She spends her salary on his needs, including caregiving and medical supplies, as well as paying bills.

Since Burt's financial resources have been depleted, we are raising funds to help him through this challenging period. As a former athletic director in Newark, NJ, Burt dedicated his life to helping kids, and even today, former students reach out to him to express gratitude for the positive impact he had on their lives.

He has outlived his savings and desperately needs assistance to cover the costs of in-home care, bills, and other necessary expenses. We are asking for your support to help make this time in his life a little bit easier.
