Support Bear's family in grieving
Donation protected
Support Elderly Widowed Indigenous Grandma with living expenses, and funeral expenses.
This fundraiser is to support a Kokum(grandma), in their 70's, who has suffered great loss in the last two years, and is recently widowed from the passing of their husband Richard Bear.
Both Kokum and Bear (in their 70's)were working jobs to make ends meet, and then he passed away very suddenly, leaving behind broken hearts and a quiet home.
The pair were love-birds, and married for over 30 years! Kokum would like to keep the rental house they lived in together, but is having trouble keeping up with bills by themselves.
All who met and had the pleasure of meeting Bear felt his loving kindness in how he spoke, walked, and cared for those around him. He was a beautiful ceremonial man, who cared deeply about community and his family. Everything he did was to love, support and care for his family and loved ones. He brought smiles and laughter wherever he went, with his humor and wisdom.
He exuded beauty and love with every step.
His absence is deeply felt in our hearts, in community, in our homes and lives.
The financial loss of his income has been very difficult for them; and Kokum has been struggling to keep up on rent, bills, medication costs, and general personal care items.
The funeral and death care costs were significant, and life insurance didn't come through, as they said they dont cover natural death. So any money buffer for grieving, funeral expenses, bills, and having to manage the income loss has hit hard.
They are in dire need of monetary support for their diabetic medication, food, clothing, gas, rent, bills, debt from funeral costs, and personal care items.
The money donated would be directly supporting Kokum in their grieving process, helping them to keep the home they shared with their husband, with their living costs, and with their general well-being.
Please share, and give if you can, even just coffee money helps, no amount is too small; everything makes a difference!
** Folks who donate 100$ or more are eligible for a custom drawing/ or painting of a loved one/pet of their choice!
